Frank Lee - MY BLUES BUDDY

I really miss Frank Lee, my long-time Blues Buddy, who died September 12, 2012. For 15+ years Frank and I listened to Blues at Festivals in Michigan, Chicago, Ohio, Indiana, Arkansas and Mississippi, and in Blues clubs in Detroit and other places. We listened to Blues CDs (and some country music) en-route to those festivals, & we talked about the Blues and Blues musicians, visited the graves of early Delta Blues artists and delighted in the food at many stops during those trips.
I have the Blues today as I think of the joys of our friendship and our travels and the Blues music we heard during those many years. I will never forget you Frank Lee! Here are a few pictures from those years.

  • The apron above Frank's head is one of 2 dozen we gave Cora Bullock. An earlier one, designed by a Clarksdale MS resident known as "Rat" had sold out and couldn't be replaced. In order to help Cora earn a little extra money, Frank created the design, ordered 24 aprons and had the design silk screened on them. We gave them to Cora on our 2008 trip to Helena. Frank really loved Cora. me too! ( Cora passed away 5 years ago)

We usually also took photos of that person, as well as the interior and exterior of the restaurant.
