Last Years at the Attic Bar: 2003 - 2007
For at least 20 years, ending in 2007, the legendary Attic Bar in Hamtramck MI was considered by many to be Detroit's home of the Blues. Many younger musicians performed there, learning and honing the Blues, while playing with such Detroit Blues greats as Uncle Jessie White, the Butler Twins - Clarence & Curtis, Duke Dawson, and others. Over the years I saw and heard some of those Blues artists, but beginning in 2003, and continuing until the Attic was sold in 2007, with my camera in hand, the Attic became a habit I couldn't shake aloose! I spent a couple of nights a week there, loving the music, taking pictures. These photos are just a few of the many thousands of pictures I took during those years, while feasting on the best of the Blues in the best place to experience it!
